The Skoda L&K 130 Pickup is a bold plug-in hybrid pickup concept, developed by 28 students from the Skoda Academy. Based on the Skoda Superb Combi, the project is a tribute to the company’s 130 years since its founding, which originally manufactured bicycles. This unique vehicle was specifically designed to support cycling events, reflecting the brand’s strong connection with the sport, having been a long-time partner of competitions like the Tour de France.
The innovations of the L&K 130 focus on functionality for cyclists. The bed features a sliding system that, at the push of a button, expands the cargo area and reveals racks for two bikes. One of the rear doors has a unique mechanism that slides backward like a van door, making access easier. The interior has been adapted with additional screens for race data monitoring and even a cooler box, showing attention to detail for its support role.
Equipped with the Superb iV’s plug-in hybrid powertrain, the concept combines a 1.5-liter turbo engine with an electric motor, delivering 201 horsepower. Its 25.7 kWh battery promises a pure electric range over 62 miles. Despite the daring design and creative engineering solutions, the Skoda L&K 130 is a one-off and not planned for mass production, serving as a showcase for the talent of the next generation of automotive professionals.
