Ferrari’s announcement, which revealed in 2024 the awaited successor to the iconic 812, the acclaimed Ferrari 12Cilindri, a V12 monster, resonated intensely in the global automotive scene. Celebrated for its striking aesthetics, which cleverly combine retro inspirations – especially in its magnificent front end – with futuristic lines, the model was immediately hailed as a future classic and a testament to the persistence of the naturally aspirated V12 engine. However, Mansory, notorious for its audacious and often polarizing interventions on luxury supercars, quickly got its hands on one of Maranello’s new super-GTs, presenting the controversial “Equestre” to the world.

Radical Design: When Ferrari Elegance Meets Mansory Exaggeration

The “Equestre” is, according to Mansory, the world’s first complete transformation of a Ferrari 12Cilindri, and its presence is undeniably impactful. While the original 12Cilindri exudes unquestionable sophistication and elegance, Mansory’s interpretation elevates the level of aggressiveness to heights that many brand enthusiasts and purists will consider excessive. The extensive carbon fiber body kit is the central element of this metamorphosis. Every component, from the redesigned front bumper with aerodynamic flaps, the vented hood, the imposing wheel arch extensions, the pronounced side skirts, to a new rear bumper, is meticulously crafted from exposed carbon fiber. Surprisingly, the German tuner refrained from installing a large rear spoiler, opting for more integrated solutions which, according to the brand, promise a “significant improvement in downforce on the front axle,” a crucial detail for stability at high speeds.

The exclusivity of the “Equestre” is not limited to its widebody kit; Mansory complements the transformation with a special paint finish, combined with colored carbon elements that accentuate its lines. A distinctive central stripe, in the colors of the Italian tricolore, runs the entire length of the vehicle, injecting a bold touch of nationalism. The “Equestre” rests on new single-piece and “ultralight” forged wheels, with dimensions of 10×21 inches at the front and 12×22 inches at the rear, fitted with high-performance tires (275/35R21 and 325/30R22). This setup not only contributes to the aggressive aesthetic, but Mansory assures that it provides greater steering precision and enhanced driving dynamics, without compromising the high comfort characteristic of a super-GT.

The Pulsating Heart: More Breath for the Legendary Naturally Aspirated V12

Under the hood, Mansory demonstrates that its focus isn’t just aesthetic. The glorious naturally aspirated V12 engine, a true mechanical symphony from Ferrari, receives treatment that further optimizes its performance. Modifications include an extensive reconfiguration of the engine’s electronic management and the installation of a new four-outlet sports exhaust system, equipped with valve control and two high-flow sport catalysts. The result of these interventions is a notable increase of 25 HP and 62 Nm of torque, raising the maximum power to an impressive 855 HP and torque to 730 Nm. For a naturally aspirated engine, any power gain is a significant achievement, and this increment undoubtedly further intensifies the visceral driving experience of this luxury super-GT, reaffirming Mansory’s commitment to performance engineering.

Exclusive Interior: The Bold Luxury of Mansory Customization

As is customary in its complete customization projects, Mansory offers 12Cilindri owners total creative freedom for the interior. The presented vehicle perfectly illustrates this philosophy, showcasing a cabin predominantly upholstered in gray Alcantara, contrasted by applications in a vibrant shade of lilac that create a dramatic and modern effect. Attention to detail is evident: the headliner, also in Alcantara, is adorned with discreet LEDs and features the Mansory logo embroidered in lilac. Exposed carbon fiber pieces are prominently integrated, including a carbon and leather sports steering wheel with an integrated shift light, accentuating the performance character. To seal the transformation’s identity, seat belts with the Mansory logo embroidered, aluminum sports pedals, and custom floor mats with the tuner’s name complete the package, turning the cabin into a sanctuary of bespoke luxury and boldness.

The Mansory Philosophy: Between Admiration and Controversy

Mansory continues to forge its unique path in the luxury tuning universe, creating transformations that invariably generate both fervent admiration and sharp criticism. The “Equestre” is another emblematic example of the German brand that does not hesitate to challenge the original aesthetics of revered supercars, redefining the concept of exclusivity. Its projects, like the 986 HP Audi RSQ8, are always a spectacle, and the Ferrari 12Cilindri is no exception to this rule. The question remains whether the power increase and the radical, unmistakable look of the “Equestre” will be enough to win over Ferrari purists, who value Maranello’s original elegance and engineering, or if Mansory’s audacity will find its niche among those seeking a maximum expression of individuality in the world of supercars.
