The 2025 Alfa Romeo Junior marks the iconic Italian brand’s entry into the competitive compact SUV segment, bringing with it the first 100% electric powertrain in its history. Built on Stellantis group’s e-CMP platform, the model aims to stand out with its sporty DNA, unmistakable design featuring the “Scudetto” grille, and refined driving dynamics, promising SUV practicality without sacrificing Alfa Romeo’s characteristic excitement.
The engine lineup is one of its highlights, offering options to suit different profiles. The entry-level “Hybrid” version combines a 1.2L turbo engine with a 48V mild hybrid system, producing 136 hp. The electric options include the “Elettrica” with 156 hp and up to 255 miles of range (WLTP), and the crown jewel, the “Elettrica Veloce,” delivering an impressive 240 hp, sport suspension, and a Torsen differential, proving that an electric SUV can be incredibly fun.
In terms of technology, the 2025 Junior innovates with a voice assistant integrated with ChatGPT and a digital NFT certificate that records the vehicle’s history, adding value for resale. Despite strengths such as design, driving experience, and a 14-cubic-foot trunk, it faces criticism for limited rear space and the high price of top trims, as well as its availability restricted to select markets like Europe and the Middle East.
