The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison is a mid-size pickup truck taken to the extreme for off-roading, developed in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). Its imposing design features steel bumpers engineered for maximum durability and improved approach and departure angles, along with 17-inch AEV wheels fitted with the largest tires in its class, measuring 35 inches. To ensure protection on tough terrain, it comes equipped with five boron steel skid plates that safeguard vital components like the oil pan, transmission, and differentials.
Under the hood, the truck houses a 2.7L Turbo High-Output four-cylinder engine, delivering 310 horsepower and a robust torque of 438 lb-ft, ideal for low-speed trail conditions. The powertrain is complemented by an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 system with low-range gearing and electronic locking front and rear differentials. The highlight is the suspension featuring Multimatic DSSV dampers, offering exceptional control and increased travel, allowing the truck to overcome obstacles with extraordinary capability.
Despite its rugged nature, the ZR2 Bison’s interior is tech-forward, featuring a digital instrument panel, an 11.3-inch infotainment system, and 360-degree cameras, including an under-vehicle view. Although there is no confirmation of its arrival in Brazil, it is speculated that the next generation Chevrolet S10 might inherit some of its technology and toughness. With a starting price in the U.S. around $60,000, the Bison stands as a top reference in off-road capability for mid-size pickups.
