Toyota is preparing to launch the Aygo X Hybrid 2026, an electrified version of its popular urban compact car. This new model will feature a full hybrid system, combining a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor, promising a combined output of 116 hp. The transmission will be an e-CVT automatic, ensuring a smooth drive optimized for city use, with a focus on high efficiency and low CO2 emissions.
In terms of dimensions and technology, the Aygo X Hybrid will maintain its compact size, ideal for urban environments, at approximately 3,700 mm in length. It’s expected to inherit and potentially improve upon the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system and the Toyota Safety Sense package from the current model, offering connectivity and driver assistance features. The trunk space might be slightly reduced to accommodate the hybrid components.
The launch is scheduled for early 2026, starting in the Netherlands. The Aygo X Hybrid 2026 is positioned as an accessible and efficient alternative for those seeking an agile and economical car for city driving, without the need for external charging like a pure electric vehicle. It represents a strategic step for Toyota in democratizing hybrid technology in smaller segments.
