The Jeep Renegade, originally launched in 2014, carved out a niche as a compact SUV with a friendly design and off-road capabilities. However, the model’s age is starting to show, especially outside markets like Brazil. Its absence from the U.S. and Canadian markets since 2023 has increased the urgency for a redesign. Jeep has confirmed the launch of a new generation Renegade in 2027, with promises of electrification and a competitive starting price in the U.S.
While the automaker has yet to reveal all the details, digital designer Marco Maltese has envisioned a bold look for the future of the model. His concept features sharper, modern lines, abandoning the rounded design in favor of striking angles and futuristic details like semi-circular LED lights and a robust front grille. The interior has also been reimagined with a digital dashboard and smart storage solutions inspired by models like the Jeep Avenger.
The new Renegade will be built on Stellantis’ modern STLA Small platform, offering mild hybrid and fully electric powertrain options. This electrification will provide not only energy efficiency but also the possibility of all-wheel drive versions with greater off-road capability. With a competitive market ahead, the new Renegade will need to combine ruggedness, technology, and style to remain among the most desirable SUVs.
