The iconic Renault 4 returns after 30 years, reinvented as an electric vehicle with a crossover stance. The big news is the Savane 4×4 concept, which adds all-wheel drive with dual motors and modifications for increased off-road capability, bringing back the adventurous spirit of the original.
This Savane 4×4 concept features raised suspension, rugged tires, and widened tracks, setting it apart from the standard production model. Although it’s not a pure off-roader, its configuration makes it more versatile for exploring off the beaten path, with performance and range expected to be superior to the basic version.
Based on the same platform as other electric vehicles from the brand, the Renault 4 Savane 4×4 is still a concept, but demonstrates the feasibility of an electric R4 with all-wheel drive. If produced, it will have a price above the standard model, but it could bring a breath of adventure and nostalgia to the electric crossover segment.
